RESEARCH UPDATE
As Breast Cancer Awareness Month approaches, we reflect upon the great work your support of The Pink Agenda has advanced. We are proud of our funded researchers and the strides they made in treating and preventing breast cancer this year.
Dr. Camila dos Santos developed a model which identified a new molecular change within post-pregnancy breast cells that has been linked to risk reduction. Dr. Tarah Ballinger continues to recruit participants for her clinical trial studying the impact of aromatase inhibitors, to improve the survivorship experience.
Projects led by Drs. Isaac Chan and David Soto-Pantoja focused on breast cancer metastasis, and both made key discoveries for reducing the formation of metastatic colonies and improving current treatments.
Dr. Ann Partridge’s work addresses the challenges that young women with breast cancer face. Her TPA funding ensured she was able to provide exceptional care throughout the COVID-19 crisis, noting that “if not for The Pink Agenda, we would not have been able to develop the platform used not only to support young women virtually through their cancer journey, but also to offer them additional research opportunities.”
TPA remains focused on our mission to make breast cancer history, and we thank you for fueling the progress made thus far. As the current pandemic continues, your support today is essential to ensuring that breakthroughs – and lives – are not lost tomorrow.
