Fundraising Tips

IDENTIFY EVENT TYPE AND DATE

Choose an event that plays to your strengths and passions, while being realistic with the time and resources you have available to dedicate.

FORM AN EVENT COMMITTEE

Assemble a diverse, enthusiastic group of people who are excited about raising money to advance TPA’s mission.

CREATE A GUEST LIST

Identify individuals in your network who are most likely to attend and support your event.

SET A FUNDRAISING GOAL AND BUDGET

Set a clear fundraising goal and budget accordingly. As a general guideline, for every $1.00 raised, no more than $0.30 should be spent. (For example, if your event raises $10,000 for TPA, your expenses should be around $3,000).

DEVELOP AN EVENT TIMELINE

Work backwards from the event date to create a comprehensive timeline of logistics and publicity steps needed to ensure success.

CREATE AN EVENT PAGE

Set up a dedicated online page for donations and event details. Click here to set up a classy page.

PROMOTE YOUR EVENT

Send invitations, write a press release or media alert, and feature the event on your social media platforms.

COLLECT DONATIONS

Encourage your supporters to donate directly via the event page or by writing a check made out to The Pink Agenda.

EXPRESS GRATITUDE

Show appreciation for everyone’s participation by sending thank-you notes, letters, or emails to those who helped make your event a success.
