TPA-Funded Researchers Honored with Top ASCO Awards

Two TPA-funded researchers—Dr. Susan Domchek and Dr. Dawn Hershman—were recognized with major honors at the 2025 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting, one of the most prestigious events in the field of cancer research. These accolades reflect the impact of their groundbreaking work and the importance of continued investment in breast cancer research.

Dr. Susan Domchek received the ASCO–American Cancer Society Cancer Prevention Award for her pioneering research in genetic risk evaluation, cancer prevention, and BRCA-related breakthroughs. As Executive Director of the Basser Center for BRCA at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Domchek has led the development of innovative cancer interception strategies and helped pave the way for the use of PARP inhibitors—life-saving therapies now used in the treatment of BRCA-mutated cancers.

Dr. Dawn Hershman was awarded the 2025 ASCO David A. Karnofsky Memorial Award, one of the highest honors in oncology. A national leader in breast cancer treatment, Dr. Hershman serves as Chief of the Division of Hematology/Oncology, Director of Breast Oncology, and Deputy Director of the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center at Columbia University Medical Center. Her research focuses on improving cancer care delivery, treatment adherence, and equitable access to care—work that continues to transform how patients experience and respond to cancer treatment.

These well-deserved honors underscore the caliber of researchers supported through The Pink Agenda’s partnership with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and the profound difference this work is making in patients’ lives.

FAB-U-WEEK 2025: Celebrating Courage, Strength, and Self-Care

From May 19–23, The Pink Agenda proudly celebrated FAB-U-WEEK, shining a spotlight on five remarkable women courageously undergoing breast cancer treatment. Through Giuliana Rancic’s FAB-U-WISH program, these women received personalized experiences and thoughtful gifts designed to uplift their spirits and remind them just how fabulous they truly are.

FAB-U-WISH grants approximately 40 wishes each year, providing essential moments of joy and self-care to women facing the challenges of breast cancer treatment—because no one should have to choose between treatment and feeling cared for.

Throughout the week, we shared daily highlights of each wish recipient on our social media channels, featuring their inspiring journeys and the special moments made possible by this transformative program.
