Kate was just 34 years old when she first found a lump in her left breast. She was initially dismissed by her physician due to her age. After advocating for herself for over five months, Kate was finally sent for testing and diagnosed with stage 3B inflammatory breast cancer in April 2022. This was just two months shy of celebrating her son’s second birthday.
Kate knew that she had to fight for her family. She rallied through her treatment, learning how to navigate her experience while raising a young child. Kate persevered and, now on the other side, she feels like a much stronger person, pushing the limits of what she thought she was capable of. She feels that maintaining a positive mindset was hugely helpful and she has found solace, both physically and mentally, in yoga since completing treatment. As someone who opted to forego reconstruction and is now dealing with chronic lymphedema, she enters this new chapter as a survivor with an even deeper appreciation for life.
With the help of our incredible friends @kendrascott, FAB-U-WISH and The Pink Agenda were thrilled to arrange a special wish for Kate and her husband including a day of pampering, beauty, and jewelry shopping before an unforgettable evening at the 2024 #TPAGala.
